hi venus, I don’t know the exact address, but the one we use is Mojon, Malolos City, Bulacan. You could try calling the nursing service office for more info, or read the comments here for pretty much everything you need to know on applying as a nurse trainee there :)

I know, I’ve heard the line is seemingly endless! haha, but yeah I’ll apply this month, hopefully I’ll get to meet you and other nurses (I think by February, where they might call in new volunteers) :)

Feb pa ba ang next batch ng nurse trainees sa BMC? ‘Kala ko by mid January na ang mga papalit sa amin accdg to Ma’am Vidal. I’m part of the November batch and our training ends by Jan 31. Try to submit the requirements as early as possible. Masaya sa BMC. Dami mo matutunan. Sige good luck.

I am a registered nurse (as well) for two years… Meaning experienced most of you did. . And worst of all the time that Nursing Leakage Exam was hot in the air. . So I decided to go, wait and experience the call center life. . . After college, eager to go for work and earn some for my “luho”. Now I have decided to take up a new challenge and pursue my career as a NARS. I can’t have anyone to accompany me and I bumped to your blog while searching in Google. I am into an idea of taking up IVT in Bulacan Medical Center. Maybe you can give me some idea. The how to’s etc. . and planning to have trainings as a staff nurse. . your info will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Megan!

Hmmmm. I’m not sure if I’m the right person to ask for advice as I have little experience, but here’s some info.

Have you passed your resumes at different hospitals? While waiting, try to look for trainings and seminars that will help update your nursing knowledge, and help make your resume look extra special hehe. The most essential & popular ones (in my opinion): IVT training, BLS and ACLS. There are hospitals that require you to have the first two, especially public hospitals. Public hospitals in Bulacan require you to have an IV license before you can apply as a volunteer.

An IV Training Program at Bulacan Medical Center now costs 2,700 pesos (I finished mine last October, and the fee at that time was only 2,500). It consists of a 3 day training, the first 2 days more on lectures and practice with the preceptors, and the last day the return demonstration of all the procedures. Free manual, lunch and unlimited coffee hehe. The manual/green booklet will be provided after you have paid the registration fee, and I suggest that you start memorizing the steps/procedures. You will also need to study for a pre-test and a post-test. Study the anatomy, trust me. :) Hmmmm ano pa ba. Bring a jacket or wear extra clothing, malamig sa JICA building. After the 3 day training and you have passed, you will then need to accomplish your 6-6-2, which you can get at BMC for free, just ask around and get a schedule. You pay another 450 pesos at the Nursing Service Office when you’re done with everything, and you just wait for your IV license for 1-2 months. For more info, call the NSO at (044)7960607. Here’s a great IVT training resource site – http://ivthub.blogspot.com

Red Cross Bulacan Chapter can be reached by foot from BMC, and you can inquire there for availble BLS and First Aid training schedules, or call (044)6625922. The Philippine Heart Center offers a week long training for BLS, ACLS, & ECG reading at a very low low price of only 7,000 pesos. Ang mura diba. Bili na lang tayo ng cellphone hahaha. :D

Are you from Bulacan? If you are, then you can apply at the Provincial Capitol for a staff nurse position into any of the public hospitals in Bulacan, as long as you have your IV license, a certificate that you have volunteered in any of their accredited hospitals (BDH, Rogaciano, BMC, etc.), your board rating and other important stuff. Kung wala kang kamag-anak na pulitiko, antay ka pa ng mga 2 years cguro :D

I also tried applying at some call centers, but after the 3rd one, I figured it just wasn’t for me. I gave my very best answers, and yet they couldn’t hire me just because I was a nursing graduate. Oh well papel, it’s their loss. Yabang haha.

Hmm. Ang haba na nito baka di mo na basahin haha. Good luck to you! Good luck din to me! Hahaha :D

thanks for your help. . :) Your blogged is really helpful. I passed the IV Training last March. It was really indeed a memorable experience. I have completed the 6-6-2 requirements. Which is a tough one (at first) but it was really helpful. Quiet nervous at first but all the staff was helpful. . The first day was not so so good day. . They don’t allow rubber shoes and cap with colored ribbon. If you insists, they’ll sent you home. hahaha

I will still have to wait for 2 months for my license and to apply as volunteer nurse at BMC. Unfortunately, they extended the months for Nurse trainee. Before it was for 3 months only but now, the new batch came in for 6 months already. . I have to wait that long before I can practice my profession for free.

Anyhow, thanks a lot for sharing a bit of your experience and advice :)

It seems like you had fun during your IVT training (I know I did :D ), good for you!

In what areas did you have your completion? I might have seen you hehe, I’m currently a nurse trainee here at BMC, and almost everyday we see nurses who wish to complete their 6-6-2 cases. And you’re right, there are a lot of friendly and helpful nurses at BMC.

I got my IVT license after a month, because I kept on calling them haha.

And yes, the new batch of nurse trainees (about to replace us) started last Monday, sayang di ka pa umabot sa kanila. But they won’t accept applicants for trainees without IV licenses, so you really have to wait first. If you have nothing to do in the meantime, I would suggest that you apply too as a nurse trainee at BMC, I learned a lot so far and had fun experiences :D

      Good luck! :)

        January 3, 2010 at 10:58 pm

hi geno, the recruitment process for nurse trainees is now different, last I heard. Back at my time, I just appeared at the NSO with all my requirements, and then the assistant chief nurse told me to come back at a specific date for the orientation, in an all white uniform. They just accepted everyone who applied back then, provided the requirements were complete. I’ve heard that they now limit the number of trainees, and that to advance to the training in special areas, a test has to be passed. Don’t hesitate to call the NSO, they can help you there. The requirements above are still the same, but be sure to have your IV license because they are pretty strict with that. Good luck!

hmm parang application letter lang, i-address mo kay dr. bajao and chief nurse, tapos lagay mo ung qualifications mo, saka bakit mo gusto maging nurse trainee sa BMC. di naman sila masyado maarte, you can do it :)

thanks sa blogs mo. rn din ako a year ago but till now p.t. parin. (professional tambay). i tried to apply at a call center din and they are about to hire me pero diko din sinipot orientation. Lav ko kasi ang profession natin kahit na mahirap talaga kalagayan ng mga bagong nurse ngayon. well sabi nga ng nanay ko(mama’s boy eh noh) tiyagaan lang talaga and balang araw magtatagumpay din.

i am about to start looking for hospitals here in my place_tarlac_ where i can enrol for an ivt too. wish me luck. sana magkaron din ako ng guts para makapagumpisang gamitin ang profession na pinili natin. thanks sa blogs mo. as i read it, nagkkaron ako ng idea kung papano magsimula.

    God bless!

      December 2, 2009 at 4:37 pm

      Hey Jemuel,

Mahirap talaga sa simula, lalo na pag wala kang “u know” hehehe. Pero that’s right, tyagaan talaga. Maswerte na nga ung nagkakatrabaho as nurse within one year pagkapasa ng board.

Pasa lang ng pasa ng resume, and undergoing some hospital trainings will definitely be a plus.

Thanks for taking the time to read, it’s cool that I get to help other people through my written experiences.

      Good luck and God Bless!

Hi! Nainspire ako sa comment mo… Do you happen to know if there’s a possibility that i’ll get hired as a nurse at BMC after the volunteer program? I really want to be an effective nurse in a good training institution. Thank you. Nice to know that you’re very successful now.

hi ecko! i’m actually about to start volunteering at BMC and boy, did you give me a big picture of what i’m about to plunge into so big thanks! i have an interview with the chief nurse later… did you have an interview? what happened? alam mo sobrang hirap maghanap ng work ngayon nakakainis! you’re very lucky may work ka na… may posibility bang mahire sa BMC after the training? nagaaccept ba ng non-chinese gen graduates ang chinese gen? thank you so much.. God bless you!

      March 3, 2010 at 7:47 pm

      Hi Gretch!

Have you read my entry on my BMC Experience? :)
About the interview, no we didn’t have any, but she did meet with us during our orientation.

About the possibility of getting hired at BMC. Hmmm. I wouldn’t want to discourage you, but. My training program was from Feb-May 2009, and I haven’t heard from them even til now. And I’ll be bragging a little bit haha, I topped the comprehensive exam for trainees after the training, and sort of had false hopes, because some people said I had a huge chance. But it’s been so long and I’m done sourgraping, and this is the real deal. No backer, no chance.

Chinese Gen. Hmmm. Only 2 ways to get in. Be a CGH grad (like me hehe), and wait for them to call you to start immediately as a volunteer and eventually be absorbed as staff. The other one, have a super backer.

But hey, don’t lose hope. It’s really hard at the beginning, but stay positive, do your best and God will do the rest hehe. :)

      Eko

        March 3, 2010 at 8:39 pm

Yes i’ve read your post already. I got interviewed a while ago and it was not a good interview. You know why? I had this thing that you told me to have but you know, the plan backfired. She got pissed. I’m sorry if I may be talking Greek to you. I just don’t know if I can post something like this publicly hehe. Can I pm you or something? I really am bothered because she and I may have started on the wrong foot. Modesty aside, I have good credentials and I’d really, really like to work for BMC eventually. But I’m worried about my chances especially now. Well, anyway, I’m not losing hope hehe. Thanks2! Ok, so I have 0 chance to work for CGH hehe.

    • 37 jeko11
      March 4, 2010 at 7:12 pm

Hi. I am a Company Nurse for almost two years now. I am fairly compensated now but I still long for the hospital experience that I failed to have. Five days after having my license a private company contacted me to work for them. Being a fresh grad, I grab the opportunity, anyway, I still function as a Nurse and has patients. I love challenges maybe that’s the reason I keep on wanting to work in the hospital. I’m afraid I might not get the compensation I am having in my current job. Anyway, I want to know when is the IV therapy training schedule. I hope I can get through, heard the slots are always full. Good luck for us Nurses!

Hi! Are the requirements still applicable to this year–2011? I’m just concernced that some of it may have changed or some have been added. Thanks in advance for the reply. I was searching for the website of BMC but no matter how much I type its URL address, I cannot find it.

hi ulet:) so far ongoing p din ang pasahan ng mga requirements s bmc.. ndi ko alam kung gang kelan pwd magpasa, pero may mga kasabay ako n 3 days before ng exam, nakapagpasa p.. but im not sure kung gnun p din ngaun.. much better if 1 week before the exam nkapagpasa n kau..ang alam ko, 60+ ata kme ngaun batch..

training?? depende po sa inyo.. may iba kxe n nagquit agad dahil natanggap cla s ibng ospita, ung iba dahil ayaw lng tlg nila.. pero i dont know, first time kxe ako magvolunteer tas s bmc ako agad nagstart.. so ndi ko alam kung panu maicocompare s ibng hospitals.. so far so good.. :) mababaet nman mga staff dun.. wala p nman ako naencounter n kakaibang staff..hehehe..
