When you’re off from work, you’re supposed to stay at home, sleep all day and not spend a cent.
I should have been informed! Haha
I had a seminar to attend today, an IV update (due to unforeseen reasons, the one I had at my own institution was not accredited) at the Philippine Heart Center. Because I’m maarte, I took a cab all the way from my place. I planned yesterday to wake up early and commute by jeep and train because I had limited funds ha-ha, but fortunately, sweldo came earlier than expected. I spent around P120 for the fare.
After the registration and the handing of the bread and juice (haha), the program and update commenced. It was cool as always in the DAPA Hall.
I felt like an outsider, and I was in reality. Majority of the attendees were nurses from PHC. I badly needed the last 4 units to complete the 24 required for IV License renewal so with no hesitation, I registered for it. And also because my license had just expired 2 days ago hahaha
The seminar ended at around 11 AM and I asked the guard how to reach SM City North Edsa. I brought my beloved digital camera which I haven’t used for months, to have it repaired there since the warranty is still intact. The guard told me it was far and I needed to ride two jeeps. And then a cab passed by and I was instantly pulled in haha. There was moderate to heavy traffic on the way. Fare: P100.00
I reached the camera store at the 5th floor of SM Cyberzone. I handed the camera to the store personnel, and voila, it worked. Ta-da! I was surprised because I’ve tried using the camera so, so many times, and the lens always got stuck in the middle and it was impossible to take pictures with it. But it really worked. I did tell them about the problem, and they told me to keep on observing the camera’s behavior and just bring it to them if it happens again. I’m happy that it’s working again, but then the warranty’s about to expire (in 10 days) and I will need to pay for the service if my camera happens to go berserk again by then.
It was lunchtime and I was craving for something cheesy. I passed by French Baker and suddenly, memories of eating there with college friends surfaced so I sat and ordered lunch haha. I had my favorite beef lasagna for P155.00. For dessert, I could not help but order a 16 oz Caramel Cashew Blizzard from Dairy Queen for P119.00.
I could have gone home but my feet dragged me to the department store. Visions of my formerly very white and and now nearing death Nike rubber shoes which I use in the hospital kept on popping. It was only a year ago when Mom and Dad bought it for me during their vacation in the US. But now, it looks as if it has survived 3 super typhoons, and will not make it alive in the next one. And it looks so unsterile hahaha. I looked around for cheap white rubber shoes. I found one on sale at P1,600.00. It was the first I’ve heard of the brand Jump, but it looked and felt sturdy.
Finally, I was on my way out of the mall. I sometimes involuntarily get and read the flyers people hand out. When I do, I just keep on walking while reading it. But then they guy who handed the flyer called my attention. I looked at the paper and it said that I could win a brand new car or trip for two to Macau. Then I saw the name of an insurance company on top of it. I knew what would happen next, and I did try to get out of it. The agent had me sit down and did his talk. I’m very gullible when people ask for my time, so it’s partly my fault. Long conversation short, I agreed to come with them to their office. When we reached their office at the mall basement, I said I needed to go the bathroom which was located a few meters away. There was an adjacent escalator. I made sure they weren’t looking and then I ran for my life. Hahaha
I walked briskly towards the mall exit. There was a cab waiting and I got in. I did not want to risk being spotted by their agents so I rode the cab without much thinking. There was heavy traffic on the way home. Fare: P150.00.
It started raining when I got out of the cab. Red Ribbon happened to be a safe and dry location from where I was standing, about to get drenched. I entered knowing that my wallet would again grow thin. And it was 7pm already. I had Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and a slice of chocolate mousse cake. P165.00.

I should start looking for a second job very soon. Haha! Huhu.
